Barbie + Kermit = 2.3-16
Have you ever wanted your W201 to be a little bit more noticeable?
Two guys from Haugesund (Norway) did, and felt that something had to be done! They added
styling elements like lower skirts and fenders, but this just wasn't enough, they wanted more!
Barbie
A friend of the owner found Barbie in the back of a German car dealer and brought the car to Norway.
Of course this would never had happened if it was an ordinary 190E, it was a 1984 2.3-16 with a
quite interesting feature. It had been tuned up by the Austrian tuner 'Albert Turbotechnik and now had approximately
280 hp!
The car soon changed owner, and this is when the tranformation started. The first change made was alloys from Kerscher; 8.5x17 in front
and 9.5x17 rear. Second, and most visible change was the paint job in bright pink!

Kermit
This car changed from an old and tired 190E to a wild 2.3-16. The engine was taken out when the car was
beeing repainted, and when the owner saw the new looks of his car he just couldn't bare to reinstall the
old 2.0 litre engine. He wanted a 2.3-16 engine, but these don't grow on trees. After a little while 'Østfold Bildemontering'
offered him a 190E 2.3-16 that had been rear ended, and he accepted promptly! Since he is a mechanic, mounting this new engine was
a fairly easy job. He also received the interior from the 2.3-16, and installed this as well.
Now he felt that the car was a bit dull again, even with the screaming green color, so he bought styling from Rieger.
Unfortunately Rieger has never been to good when it comes to fit, but who cares as long as it is the most extreme styling equipment!
