Part 2

Hand in hand, the two enter Josh's suite.  Neither of them was willing to speak let alone loosen their hold on one another.  As much happiness was in their eyes, fear was also present.  Fear that this was merely a dream. Reva longed to touch him again.  It had been so long since they had been able to feel one another, to be this close, physically and emotionally.  They had been trying desperately to stick it to each other.  Playing their games to see who would give in first.  But now, right now in this very moment, none of that mattered.  Nothing in the world mattered except the racing hearts of two people bound together by love.  As they stared deeply at each other, Reva slowly reached to touch his face.  Her eyes were telling him how much she wanted him and only him.  Tears, however, began as she saw the doubt in his eyes.  She searched for words to express her deepest feelings, but she knew he still couldn't trust her verbal communication: not yet.  She would have to speak a different language; one that only they could understand.  She pulled his head down to hers and kissed him gently.  He quickly translated the words of her heart and responded with a message of his own.  Hungrily, he began to kiss her deeply, relentlessly.  He wanted her, every part of her: mind, body and soul.

Josh slowly started to push off the left strap of her dress.  He looked into her eyes for approval.  She agreed to his proposal as she began to remove his jacket, rubbing his chest in the process.  He gasped quietly at her touch.  Without taking her eyes from his, Reva effortlessly undid his tie and began to unbutton his shirt.  Several buttons later, she gently kissed his chest.  The feel of her breath on his skin made Josh's heart skip a beat as he closed his eyes and tried to compose himself.  Unable to control his emotions, he quickly pulled her lips to his and kissed her again and again.  He then made his way to her cheek, neck and shoulders as she closed her eyes, reveling in this pure pleasure.

Josh's jacket, shirt and tie were strewn across the floor as Reva pulled him towards the bed. Josh worked on unzipping Reva's dress as she fumbled with his belt buckle. Josh pulled Reva's dress over her head and gently tossed it to the floor. The two stare at each other for a minute -- eyes asking the question that neither one wants to voice.  Josh answers the unspoken question for both of them by stepping towards Reva and kissing her. Reva returns the kiss and pushes him onto the bed and falls down on top of him.

Josh: I love you, you know that?  Don't you?

Reva: (smiles) How could I not know that?  That is something that can never be destroyed: our love.  Always.

Josh smiles back at her, feeling her touch, her longing, her love.

Josh: I ne…

Reva places her hand on his mouth to stop him from speaking.

Reva: Shhh.  You don't have to say anything.  I know.  I know.

Josh studies her face for a moment then slowly presses his lips to hers.  For tonight, it is only them.  Two complicated people, one simple love.

Part 3

Josh holds Reva tightly in his arms as dusk slowly fades to night.  They slept so peacefully; one would never guess the recent drama they have faced.  They take each breath together.  One soul, two bodies.

Reva wakes up first feeling more rested than she has in a long time--a glance up tells her why. She smiles as she watches him sleep--such a small thing but how she has missed waking up in his arms. Her smile gradually turns to a frown as the reality of the situation begins to come to surface.  Would he regret what happened?  She hadn't planned on ending up in his bed when she saw him at towers, but would he realize that?  She watched him sleeping, content.  She decided that no matter what the consequences, it was worth it just to be in his arms again, to feel his touch, his love.  A frown forms on her face as she realizes that in the light of day he might regret what had happened.  Reva laughed silently as she realized he'd probably accuse her of seducing him.  Never mind the fact that he was the one that dragged her off the dance floor.

Pushing her fears aside, Reva gently stroked Josh's beard as she says his name.  Josh mumbles Reva's name in his sleep.

Reva:  Bud, wake up...Joshua.

Josh:  Reva? (Groggily) (He looks at her, smiles with relief and takes her in his arms)  I thought I dreamed you last night.

Reva smiles, relieved thankful that he doesn't regret their evening

Reva- It felt like a dream to me too--I've missed this so much --waking up in your arms...

Josh holds her tighter...

Josh: It wasn't a dream. (Repeating himself) It wasn't a dream.

Reva: I'm right here, Joshua, all of me.

Josh looks into her eyes and Reva begs him silently to believe her. Still gazing into her eyes he asks...

Josh: How did we let Always slip away?

Reva rubs his chest and moves closer into his hold of her.

Reva: I was all mixed up and you wouldn't or you couldn't help me figure things out.

Josh: (Stiffening, his grasp loosening slightly): I couldn't stay.  Not knowing that a part of you was longing to be with Richard.

Reva: Oh Joshua, (sigh) I don't blame you for leaving--I certainly acted like I wanted Richard back more than I wanted to be with you.  (Reva clings tighter to him in regret.)

Josh: Acted? (His actions immediately halt as he meticulously turns to her.  She is buried in his body, yet in one motion, he releases his grip completely from her.)  Your actions screamed to everyone in sight that you wanted Richard more than you wanted me.

Reva flinches as if he had just hit her.  She pushes herself up off of his chest.  Although Reva had closure with Richard, the wounds were just beginning to heal.

Reva: (clearly) Joshua, I wanted to be, I want to be with you more than anything....

Josh: And I suppose that is why you had to go back to San Cristobel, because you wanted to be with me.

Reva: Yes! I had to go back to San Cristobal… I had no choice.  I stole something from Richard.  I had no right to take it from him and it was eating me up inside.  I had to go to…

Josh: (pushing himself to sit up) To what? See if you two still had something going? See if he wanted Princess Catherine back? Tell me Reva, did he kick you out of the palace?  Is that why you came back?

Reva: (sitting up straight now) I chose you, Bud, I made my choice when I got into the yacht with you and left Richard shattered on the beach with no wife and no child! (She wraps the blanket around her as if to place more distance from him.) You really are a piece of work; you know that? I never slept with Richard--that's more than you can say about you and Olivia. Why don't we discuss your relationship with Olivia?

Josh: (he is shocked, but quickly retorts) At least I waited until after we were separated to start anything.

Reva gets out of bed and searches for her clothes--relieved to find them all in one place she slides her dress on and grabs her high heels.

Reva: You are such an asshole, Joshua Lewis. I've had enough of your garbage.  I love you but right now I can't stand to be in the same room as you. You want to nurse your pride by fucking Olivia? Fine, go for it. She can have you.

Josh cringes as the door slams behind Reva.
