Originally built in 1987, lights for night games were added in 1999. The grandstand seating capacity is listed as 1500 while lawn seating provides space for up to 3000.

The trees at the cemetery across the street from the left field fence provide a natural backdrop.

All seating is in the form of bleacher benches without seat backs. All of the seating is protected by the backstop netting.

The State of Illinois flag and the University of Illinois flag proudly flank the American flag along with the 1998 Big Ten Conference Champion banner.
With the stadium situated right at the dividing line, a home run to right field lands in Champaign's twin city of Urbana.
