HENLEY FIELD

Lakeland, Florida

Lakeland is truly blessed to have a genuine work of classic Spanish Florida art, Henley Field. It was opened in the early 1920's like many other great old Grapefruit League yards to serve the developing needs of major league spring training as well as more local minor league baseball. Henley Field has since been home to big league spring training as well as various minor league teams serving parent clubs including the Indians, Giants and Tigers:

Lakeland Highlanders, Class C Florida State League, 1923-26

Lakeland Pilots, Class C Florida International League, 1946-48

Lakeland Pilots, Class B Florida International League, 1949-50

Lakeland Patriots, Class B Florida International League, 1951

Lakeland Pilots, Class B Florida International League, 1952

Lakeland Pilots, Class D Florida State League, 1953-55

Lakeland Indians, Class D Florida State League, 1960

Lakeland Giants, Class D Florida State League, 1962

Lakeland Tigers, Class A Florida State League, 1963-64

Lakeland Tigers, Class A Florida State League, 2002

With newer spring training and minor league facilities established in Lakeland, Henley Field is currently home to the Florida Southern College baseball team and other amateur teams.

Scorer's tables in lieu of press box; the place is extremely well maintained

Nice concession area

Like the fan-friendly facilities, the field and players facilities are also in pristine condition
