New Orleans, Louisiana:
SpayMart: Helping Feral Cats

This is one of the programs through which my apartment complex, The Cotton Mill, has humanely sterilized the majority of the feral (undomesticated) cats that live in our courtyard.  SpayMart's spay/neuter services for feral cats are provided through two local vets: Dr. Hank Klimitas at Magazine Street Animal Clinic, and Dr. Rollie Norris at Ark Animal Hospital.  Services are provided by appointment only and for a fee of $15 per cat.  Funding for this worthwhile program is acquired through private contributions, humane foundations, corporate sponsors, and government agencies.  If you would like to receive more information, become a member, make a donation, or volunteer services, contact  Lynn Chiche and  Pam Casey at (504) 838-9167, fax (504) 834-6254, or write to them c/o  SpayMart, 1202 Orange Street, NOLA 70130.

If you have information about "fix & release" spay/neuter programs in your own area/city/town that you wish to pass on to others, please feel free to contact me at Taueret@aol.com.  Every animal deserves a chance.  Thank you for sharing this interest and concern -- and blessed be!!
