Ra-May at the Tree

Its forceful pull was relentless, and her senses were overcome. She found herself diving headlong into darkness and realized too late, that she was helpless to halt it.
They watched, horrified, as the branches swayed, and the large leaves enclosed her completely in a concealing embrace.
She, herself, knew that she was no longer embodied, her essence now being held within the tree, surrendered property of the spirit that dwelled there.

She was sealed within a flaming, transparent orb, slicing effortlessly through the duskiness within the tree, the vessel shielding her from the thick, oppressive nothingness that dwelled on the fringes of its fiery glow.

She floated.

“Your heart is untouched by evil, child. The light grows brighter with your presence. It accepts your purity. You are one with it. Ask what you will. I will try to deliver, but only if it is within my reign of power.”
“Tell me, please, how do I defeat the Del-a-Shar?” she whispered. “Tell me what is expected of me?”

“All answers lie within you, child. When the time comes, you will know what is expected and will act upon it. Now you must return to the living.”

The answer was less than comforting.
