The Zob Show review of, uh, us If I were sitting in a bar somewhere, Shag Bark Hickory would be a band I would love to see perform. They play and sing simple tunes that are witty and fun. Such as the two songs I reviewed “Big Fat Guitar” and “Frogs”. These two songs made me laugh and want to drink along with the band until last call. However when you are sober these songs lose their rational humor and have no rhythmic element to help you get through them. This is a great example of a band you must see live in Joe’s bar down the street, where they have a cult following. Where you and your buddies can raise your mugs and slap each other on the back. Just hearing these songs however leaves you with a dumb look on your face wondering why you downloaded this music. I can only give Shag Bark Hickory one Z, but don’t take that wrong it’s just their music and style cannot be captured on any kind of media.
