The FIA have announced the date for Jarno Trulli's appeal against his disqualification from the US Grand Prix will be held on Friday 26th Octoberr, with a decision due on Saturday 27th.

A successful appeal would see Jarno's 5th place reinstated, but would drop Jean alesi from 6th to 7th. Trulli was disqualified after the stewards found the plank underneath his EJ11to be warn below the legal limit, it is believed the extra wear occured following an accident with Raikkonen's Sauber.

Most importantly, if the appeal were to be successful, Jordan would move from 6th to 5th in the Constructor's Championship, moving ahead of Honda rivals, BAR. The two teams are currently level on points (17), but BAR take fifth position as they have had more higher placed finishes.
Aside from the kudos of being the 'top' Honoda team, moving up the garage line one place and getting car numbers 9&10 rather than 11&12, it could mean extra prize money of $3-4million.
