Taking no time for a rest following his return from Malaysia, Heinz-Harald Frentzen resumed the testing programme for Jordan Honda on Wednesday at Barcelona.
Blustery conditions all day made running conditions quite difficult, but Frentzen posted the 2nd fastest lap time of twelve drivers with 1:21.29, and ran the EJ11 chassis 05 for the first time, completing 86 trouble free laps.
The team concentrated on chassis set-up for the Spanish Grand Prix which included engine and software development and tyre testing and evaluation for Bridgestone.
Heinz-Harald was happy withe the progress made, despite the difficult conditions, "This was a true day of a battle at Barcelona. Nearly all the teams have been there, some of them, however, only with last year’s cars. I did 86 laps with our current car, the EJ11.
"Primarily, I’ve been concentrating on tyre tests. And there was something else to be tested: a traction control. Just to avoid any misunderstandings: we did that, of course, in preparation for the Spanish Grand Prix on April 29."
Frentzen will continue testing on Thursday morning, with team-mate Jarno Trulli taking over for the afternoon and all day Friday.
