9th March - Ricardo fastest in the wet at Silverstone.

Jordan’s test team and rainy weather both arrived at the Silverstone circuit on Thursday, as the Irish team ran the first of a two day test with their test driver, Ricardo Zonta, behind the wheel. Heinz-Harald and Jarno have stayed on the far side of the world to allow them to prepare for the upcoming Malaysian Grand Prix.

Ricardo posted the fastest lap time of the day with 1:36.492, completing 54 trouble free laps Jordan were one of only three teams to fly home a car from Australia in order to use a 2001 specification car for this test.

With wet conditions persisting throughout the day, the team concentrated its efforts on wet set-up car development in the morning, with tyre testing for Bridgestone in the afternoon. Work was also done on data collection on the new Honda engine and software development ahead of the reintroduction of traction control in April.

Ricardo will continue testing on Friday, before the EJ11 chassis 02 is sent back round the world to Malaysia for the second round of the Formula One World Championship.
