In the estimated budget stakes for the 2001 season, Jordan have come with a staggering $172million, but this is only enough for 7th place.
In 2000 the team were thought to have about $105million to spend so great work has been done in the off-season. The huge increase is possible due to the signing of many new sponsors like worldofinternet.com, DHL, Danzas, Puma and Laurent Perrier.
Despite the increase, the Silverstone based team still lag way behind McLaren at $274million and chart toppers Ferrari with $284million, although a big chunk of that has to go to paying Schumacher's wages.
The extra $$$ will be very welcome as Jordan try to reclaim the 3rd place in the constructor's championship secured in 1999 but lost last year.
The team are also planning to expand their factory opposite the gates of the Silverstone circuit. They have acquired more land around the facility and are now in the middle of a major expansion. He current facility dates back to 1992 when there were only 60 people of the team - today there are over 230 and growing rapidly.
