Eghbal Hamidy will officially join the Jordan team today, Monday, and is looking forward to helping them achieve their goals.
He starts as their new Technical Director with a quick introduction to those left at the Silverstone HQ before flying off to Melbourne to prepare for the Australian Grand Prix.
“I’m excited to be joining Jordan as I think there are some exciting times ahead of us,” Hamidy commented. “The team and Honda have done a very good job and I'm looking forward to contributing to that effort and guiding the evolution of the new car package to achieve the goal that the team have set themselves.”
Eghbal brings over a decade of experience in Formula 1 to Jordan, having also previously worked for the Stewart-Ford team from mid 1996 as Head of Aerodynamics, designing the 1999 European Grand Prix winner. At the end of 1999 he joined Arrows as Chief Designer and produced a car that was often the fastest in a straight line speed in 2000 despite being driven by an underpowered Supertec engine.
