The Jordan team started its last test session before the Australian GP on Tuesday at Silverstone with just Heinz-Harald Frentzen participating.
The team’s plans were scuppered due to heavy fog in the morning which cleared just before lunch-time, once the skies cleared at midday all the teams got down to business. Jordan decided to alter their testing programme to make maximum use of the shortened time in the afternoon and for the first time this year set their EJ11 up for qualifying conditions.
Heinz-Harald said "We've done something that we didn't do during all the winter tests, we drove with a small fuel load for the first time. It was extremely important as we needed to find out how the car felt in qualifying specification."
The German completed 28 laps and set a new winter testing record for the circuit with a lap at 1:24.081, besting the 1:24.300 he set on Jan. 18.
