10th August - Prost and Alesi’s war of words continues.

Alain Prost has attacked Jean Alesi for his "childish attitude" in dealing with the dispute which led to his departure to Jordan earlier this week.

“For me, his recent remarks are grotesque and I don't want to comment on them in detail," Prost told sports daily l'Equipe in an interview published on Friday.
“But above all when we fixed the terms of our separation, it was agreed that nobody would denounce the other party or would give his version of how things had happened," the four times world champion added. “Then minutes after we announced his departure he was giving everything away on radio. It's a childish attitude.”

Alesi said a legal letter sent by Prost had led to his decision to leave explaining, "Things really didn't go the way I'd expected at Prost, but on the Monday after Silverstone I received a letter from Alain's solicitor which deeply upset me. After that, all I wanted was to leave,"
Prost’s view is that the letter was just a warning after Alesi's outspoken criticism of the team after Silverstone.

The Prost team boss said he was not really surprised about the outcome, since Alesi had shown the same attitude at the other teams he had driven for in his 12-year career. “He did exactly the same at Ferrari, exactly the same at Benetton and exactly the same at Sauber," said Prost. “It happened again with us... It's the same every time. The others are all imbeciles, engineers are no good and there is no progress made on the car.
“He should stop it. And I don't want to say anymore."
he added.
