Following their return from Brazil, Jordan McLaren and BAR made their way to Silverstone to begin preparations for the San Marino Grand Prix on April 15th. Very wet conditions at the circuit on Tuesday hindered all teams from making any significant progress in testing.
Jordan Honda's third driver, Ricardo Zonta, posted the fastest lap time of 1:28.11, although he was the only driver able to complete a timed lap in semi-dry conditions.
The team's plan was to run an extensive tyre test programme although after five laps it became wet on one side of the circuit and dry on the other, making running impossible. After lunch there was so much standing water on the track with not enough cars running to move it, so the team transferred its efforts to traction control software development in preparation for the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona.
Zonta ran a total of fifteen laps. A comprehensive tyre evaluation is planned for tomorrow, when he will be joined in the afternoon by Jarno Trulli in a second EJ11.
