Giancarlo tests the EJ12.

Giancarlo Fisichella and Takuma Sato today completed a third day of testing at the Circuit de Catalunya with Jordan Honda in Barcelona.

Fisichella returned to the EJ12 for the first time since last week’s test at Silverstone, completing 33 laps with a best time of 1:21.08. He concentrated on oil systems and cooling set-ups, vibration work for Honda and testing of aerodynamic and general set-up.
His time was the fastest yet by the EJ12 at the Spanish circuit, albeit still over 3 seconds off the pace set by Sauber, the fastest 2002 challenger to date.

Sato ran for 69 laps in the EJ11 and recorded the seventh fastest lap time of 1:20.34. He lost a few hours of track time due to a fuel problem but spent the rest of the day working on development brakes, front suspension geometry and tyre testing for Bridgestone.

The drivers will complete Jordan Honda’s four-day test in Barcelona tomorrow, before going to Valencia for a three-day test next week.
