3rd January - New Jordan drivers to test on January 9th.

Jordan's drivers for 2002
With Christmas and New Year holidays now over, Jordan’s 260-strong workforce are back in full swing, following a pattern of shiftwork over the holiday period which included weekends, to ensure that the 2002 challenger, the EJ12, is built to schedule.
Even new boy Takuma Sato dropped in on Christmas Day to deliver a part for his seat, although he didn’t have many people to talk to as nearly all the staff made use of the bank holidays to spend time with family and friends and take a well-earned break.

With the testing ban having been lifted on 1 January, the team is now busy preparing to take Takuma Sato and Giancarlo Fisichella to their first test session of 2002.

87 days after the curtain came down on the 2001 season in Japan and with only 59 to go to Melbourne, the Jordan Honda F1 cars will be back in action, at Barcelona on January 9th.

Although it is their first Jordan test together, both drivers have tested with Jordan before: Giancarlo during his season racing for Jordan in 1997 before leaving for Benetton, and Takuma at Jerez in December 2000.
The Japanese ace also got a brief chance to drive last year's EJ11 car, getting in it last month at Silverstone, with the FIA's permission, for a film shoot to promote the team's EJ10 sports drink.

Giancarlo and Takuma will join eight other teams who are all due to participate in a three day test at the Circuit de Catalunya.
