6th February - EJ11 outshines EJ12 at Valencia.

Takuma is 2nd quickest, but in last years car.
Jordan Honda today began a three-day test in Valencia with Giancarlo Fisichella and Takuma Sato behind the wheel of both the EJ11 and the EJ12.

Sato was second quickest with a lap time of 1:13.83 and he completed a total of 72 laps in the EJ11. He worked on general set-up in the morning and spent the afternoon concentrating on race set-up, following a scheduled engine change at lunchtime.

Fisichella continued development work on the EJ12, running for 53 laps and focusing on engine development work for Honda and general set-up including personal preferences for the front of his EJ12.
As at Barcelona, he was unable to get within 2 seconds (3%) of the timesheet leader, Heidfeld's Sauber, but it is hoped that the EJ12 will move up the leader board during this week.
Honda like to gradually increase the revs of a new engine rather than indtroducing all the power at once. This allows them to ensure the compatibility of the engine to the chassis and become aware of any problems as they occur.

Takuma and Giancarlo also carried out practice starts with the team throughout the day.

Both drivers will continue testing tomorrow and Thursday.
