Fisichella with the car to take him to a win?

Giancarlo Fisichella has targeted 2002 as the year that will give him his first Formula One victory. The Italian, whose career to date lists five second places and a pole position as his best results, says he is now ready to go that extra step and secure his first Grand Prix win.
"I expect a lot [from 2002]," Fisichella told Gazzetta dello Sport. "I know it won't be easy because there are some very strong teams in front of us, and we've had some problems in winter tests.
"But my Jordan car is a good car, and the engine only needs developments. My objective is definitely to win a Grand Prix, my first victory in F1. I think that, these years, I've shown that I can be fast even during difficult times. I feel ready both mentally and physically: if the car is there, I won't be afraid of anything. – and if I could choose which GP I would like to win? That would definitely be Monaco.”
Giancarlo knows that things have changes since he was last with the Irish team, beut feels they have changed for the better. “From ‘97 on the team has grown into a top team, with many more people working there."
The 29-year-old has returned to Jordan after four years at Benetton. The Italian endured his worst season in F1 last year but in doing so established himself as one of the best drivers in the sport, outperforming his team-mate on most occasions and claiming a magnificent third place at Spa Francorchamps, seen by many as one the greatest races of his career.
His performances have led former Jordan driver Jean Alesi to declare that he has the most natural driving talent in F1, more even than the four times world champion, Michael Schumacher. But he knows that talent and desire will not be enough and there is a stumbling block in the first performances of the Honda RA002E engine. Jordan and Honda bosses have both admitted that the engine is not yet giving out enough power to trouble the front-runners.
The Roman, however, is confident that the Japanese car giant will come up with the goods as the season progresses. He said: "Honda is a prestigious manufacturer, they have always achieved at the top levels in F1, and now they are betting a lot on this new, wider V-angled engine. It will need a few more developments, but we are optimistic."
