This crazy old loon is actually a talented swordsmith. He is the one who created Tetsusaiga and Tenseiga from the fang of InuYasha and Sesshoumaru's father. But he can sometimes be more annoying than helpful...
Looks:
Toutousai is an old man, with a small white ponytail at the back of his pretty much bald head. He has huge eyes, and wears a raggedy green coat. He's usually barefoot, but then, he's also usually riding on the back of his big, brown, 3-eyed ox. He's mostly seen carrying a hammer or mallet with a long handle, which has been shown to be used in the forging of Tetsusaiga.
Weapons:
Well, his ox can count as a weapon, if it happens to drop on someone. There's a flash of lightning before the ox lands, too, which can probably be pretty painful. Other than that, Toutousai has that huge hammer which can cause the ground to split, and fire to spew forth. He does this to Sesshoumaru a couple of times, as well as use his other weapon on the demon lord. Toutousai, you see, has the ability to breathe great amounts of fire directly from his mouth. He accidentally roasted InuYasha before, too.
Up side:
FANTASTIC swordsmith! When Goshinki broke the Tetsusaiga, InuYasha took the sword back to Toutousai to be reforged, only to lose a tooth in the process. Toutousai also refuses to build a sword of destruction for Sesshoumaru, and sometimes offers help to InuYasha and his group, like when he taught Inu about the Wind Scar, or told him how to make the sword lighter.
Downside:
Sometimes, though, his advice is pretty much worthless. How to make the sword lighter? Simple, InuYasha has to become stronger! Other times, he's just plain forgetful, or annoying. Like when he stole InuYasha and the other's dinner, or how he seemed to be agreeing with Sesshoumaru about InuYasha's inability to wield Tetsusaiga. He even threatened to destroy the sword, at one point.
Overall:
He's a good person to have on your side, although he'll probably get on your nerves very quickly. If you ever need a weapon, though, this is the man, er, demon to go to. He can be reliable when it comes to his weapons, as to him, they are his precious babies, and you have to earn the right to hold one and call it your own.
