THE FOURTH LIGHT (BY INVID HELLCAT)
CHAPTER ZERO: SAILOR STAR DANCER
Tokyo Japan:
Nibiki Yamada sat watching darkness cover her city, her country, indeed her entire world was being covered in darkness. The Sailor Senshi were battling the forces of Queen Beryl at the North Pole. Nibiki knew that if the Senshi failed, her mission also would be a failure as this world and those on it would either die or be enslaved. To this point the exiled Star Light Senshi had found no success in her mission to find her long since missing queen. To Sailor Star Dancer this was not just a mission of finding her queen it was a mission to redeem herself of her past misdeeds and misjudgments. Even though three other Star Light Senshi had been sent to Earth with the same mission she was forbidden to help them or to be helped by them. Now everything was up to the Sailor Senshi of the Inner Sol system. She hated feeling so helpless but she could not interfere unless and until the Senshi failed. She looked down into the streets and saw many people looking up at the strange and unnatural darkness that swallowed up the light of the sun. Many people were panicking others fell to their knees and started to pray. Nibiki just sat and grew ever more frustrated. 'They've got to win.' She thought to herself as she stood up and walked to her bed. 'If they fail then I have failed, and then I'll never be allowed back to my world.' Her thoughts continued on. She laid down and let her thoughts drift back to how she was exiled. Not only did her being exiled cause her personal shame but she had also shamed her entire family.
The Home world of the Star Lights Silver Millennium:
The Sailor Star Lights had always been the most respected and revered people in the entire system outside the royal family. But, one of the four honor guards of that respected group now stood trail. Her crime was abandoning her post, and that abandonment had nearly cost the queen her life. Had it not been for the quick action of the three other Star Light Senshi. Sailor Star Fighter, Sailor Star Healer, and Sailor Star Maker. At this point her fellow Star Lights was hammering the young Star Light on all sides. Trying to figure out why she left her post. "Star Dancer why did you do it? Do you have any idea what your own actions could have done?" The leader of the Start Lights nearly yelled her question. "I'm sorry Star Fighter I didn't think that anything would happen." Star Dancer cried her answer. The young Senshi's mind was numb at the attacks from her fellow Senshi. She had been crying since the interrogation had begun. "That's the problem Star Dancer you didn't think! You know what's going on in the Sol, Sirius, and Polaris Star Systems its chaos everywhere, and you think that the evil that threatens them won't ever threaten us?" Star Healer injected her own question. "I'm sorry I told you what more do you want?" Star Dancer yelled back her own question. "I had no idea that we were in any danger. I didn't know that my being gone for a few minuets would hurt anything or any one especially the queen." She continued her tears flowing down her cheeks like rainwater in a storm. "I know that I messed up. I know that what I did was wrong, but please stop trying to rip me to shreds. All I'm asking for is a second chance." She finally finished her statement then put her head in her hands and sobbed heavily. "You say you want a second chance? Personally my dear Star Dancer you'll be lucky if you still have your head after the trail is over." The Queen spoke. Star Maker who had remained quiet the entire time finally spoke up. "My queen, I have an idea," She started. "My idea is this. We send her on a mission of redemption if she succeeds all charges will be dropped if she fails she can never again return to this planet." Star Maker finished. The two other Star Light Senshi and the queen looked at Star Maker a moment. Then the Queen spoke. "Very well, Sailor Star Dancer you shall be sent into the future. If the prediction of Sailor Pluto is correct then I shall disappear very soon. I will send you to the Earth of the future and your task will be to locate me and return me safely to our home world. You cannot help or be helped by the other Star Lights of that time. You will be on your own. If you succeed in finding me and returning me safely home then, and only then, shall you be allowed back on our home world. Should you fail you will live the rest of your life out on the Earth. Do you understand the mission that now lies before you?" The Queen announced and asked. Sailor Star Dancer lifted up her face from out of her hands and looked at her Queen and fellow warriors. "Yes, my queen I fully understand." She said in a timid sounding voice. The Queen then pulled a small sphere out of her robes, and threw it at Sailor Star Dancer. She disappeared in a flash of green light. The three remaining Star Lights looked at the empty space that Sailor Star Dancer had occupied just seconds ago. "Good Luck Star Dancer." They all said as one.
The present:
Nibiki continued to dwell on her thoughts. She then heard a knock at her bedroom door. "It's open." She said as the door opened revealing Katrina Asamov. Undoubtedly Nibiki's best friend. The two girls had known each other since before Nibiki's memories had been revealed to her. Which was now almost five years. Katrina, Kat to her friends, walked into the room. "Hi, Nibiki how are you?" The girl asked. "Just as well as anybody can be all things considered." She said as she sat up in her bed. Kat walked over to her friend and held her hand. "Don't worry about what is happening outside. Some how I know that everything will be ok." Kat said in her most chipper sounding voice. Nibiki looked at her friend and smiled. "Yes Kat, I guess that you're correct." Nibiki replied. Nibiki had always felt that Kat could always understand her. Kat's parents had been branded as enemies of the state by the Soviet Union some years back. To avoid being captured they fled to Tokyo. Kat was a tall and thin girl for her age. She stood at five foot six inches. Her hair was a light brown; some would argue that it was tan, with a hint of red. Her eyes were mismatched her left one being violet and her right one being blue-green. She has a cross between a slender and an athletic build. She is very fair skinned and would sun burn after less than forty-five minuets in the sun. Kat was an above average student. Her favorite subject was history and her least favorite home economics. The two friends sat and talked about whatever they could to keep their minds off the strangeness of the day's events. When they heard several screams come from the street below. The two rushed to the window only to find a strange looking creature that seemed to be a hybrid of a woman and a flashlight firing black beams of energy at the people and strange looking crystals materializing from the energy. The creature looked up at the window that the two girls were looking out of, and before the girls had time to react the creature was floating just outside the window. The creature smashed the window with its elbow. The glass shattered and fell both in the bedroom and onto the sidewalk below. Nibiki and Katrina ran out of the bedroom. 'What the hell is this? This isn't one of Beryl's yoma.' She thought as she did her best to lead her friend to safety. The creature put its hand together and a beam of black energy struck Kat in the chest. Katrina screamed in pain. Nibiki seeing her best friend in such pain let out a scream of rage. "I don't know where you come from or who sent you but your days of terrorizing the innocent are over." Nibiki yelled as a small microphone headset appeared on her left ear and extended down to her mouth. "Dancer Star Power, Makeup!" She said as a dome of star shaped light surrounded her. The creature stopped her assult on Katrina. Katrina was dazed from the energy that had assailed her body. She wasn't sure if she could trust her eyes, but what she did see was a dome of light where Nibiki should have been. When Nibiki's transformation was completed she was now wearing a light brown leather mini skirt and a light brown bikini top with a sleeveless brown vest. Her hair was now in a shoulder length ponytail. She was also wearing a yellow gold tiara on her head. Black leather boots were on her feet and up to mid shin. She also had light brown knee and elbow pads. Nibiki Yamada was now the Sailor Star Light warrior Sailor Star Dancer. "I am Sailor Star Dancer, and now you die!" Star Dancer announced. When Sailor Star Dancer went into action she was always low on words and high on action. She was a firm believer in let your actions do the talking. The flash light creature snarled and shot a red beam of light towards the Star Light. Star Dancer avoided the blast rather easy, but she was not expecting a second attack before she could regain her bearings. The attack caught her just below her rib cage, and slammed her into the nearby wall. She bounced off the wall and found herself tumbling down the stairs. Star Dancer landed at the bottom of the stairwell in an unconscious heap. The creature smiled and went in for the kill. By this time Kat had regained her full senses and saw Star Dancer take her tumble. When she saw the creature start to go after the helpless Senshi she leapt at the monster and the creature also took a spill. The creature took a few seconds to recover and looked up at its new attacker. "If want to join your friend in death. All you needed to do was say please." The creature snarled as it began to climb the stairs. "Don't touch her. Your fight is with me." Star Dancer said shakily still trying to recover from the assault and the fall down the stairs. The creature turned around. "I will have her heart and yours and you can't stop me." The Monster yelled as she put her hands together again. Trying to finish what it had started. "NO!!! You will not harm Katrina!" Star Dancer shouted. "Star Tranquil Scorch!" Star Dancer commanded her attack power to life. A beam of intense yellow energy shot out at the monster before it could restart the cruel task of stealing Kat's hart crystal. The attack struck the monster square in the middle of its back. It never even knew that the attack was coming. The creature let out a scream of pain and anguish before it exploded into a ball of flame. Then in the creature's place a flashlight fell to the floor. A small oval shaped object fell out of the light and cracked open and a black shadowy like figure came out and then disappeared. With the enemy destroyed Sailor Star Dancer collapsed to her knees and then fell flat on her face. Katrina walked over to her friend crying. "Nibiki why didn't you tell me that you were a Sailor Senshi?" She asked as tears streamed down her face. "I didn't tell you because I was afraid that if you knew my enemies would come after you. I couldn't endanger you like that. I love you so much Kat I didn't want to see you hurt. But, now I know that I don't have much time left. My mission here was a failure I didn't find my Queen. I'll never get to see home again." She said as tears streamed down her face. Kat looked at her best friend through tear filled eyes. "What do you mean you don't have much time left?" Kat cried. "I'm going to die. I always knew that I might die in battle, and now it looks like I will." She said her voice getting weaker. "NO! You can't die. I can't lose you Nibiki. I can't! Life isn't worth living if you're not around!" Kat was nearly shouting. Nibiki took her friend's hand and smiled a sad weak smile. "I love you Katrina Asamov. I'll always be with you." Nibiki gasped then went into a coughing fit. Kat only sobbed harder. "I love you too!" Kat managed to say between sobs. She kissed her friend's hand and in that instance Katrina knew that her friend would soon leave this mortal coil. "My only regret is that I failed my Queen again." Nibiki croaked out her voice barely a whisper. Her breathing grew rough and ragged. Her life was slowly slipping away. Kat brought up Nibiki to her and held her tight slowly rocking her back and forth. "If you're going to die this day at least I will not let you die alone." She said as she kissed her dying friend on the forehead. Nibiki smiled and closed her eyes, and with what little strength that she had left she kissed Katrina on the lips it was a full and passion filled kiss. Kat had never experienced a kiss like that before she could almost feel her friend's fading life force enter her own body. When the kiss was broken Nibiki looked at her friend in the eyes for the last time. "I'm trusting you with my mission Kat please find my Queen, and the other Star Lights. Please you're the only hope that I have left." Her voice almost inaudible. "How I'm not a Sailor Senshi? How can I fulfill your mission?" Kat asked confused. "You now have the spirit of Sailor Star Dancer inside of you. When we kissed I gave my power to you. You'll know what to do. It might take some time but trust me you'll know what to do, and when to do it. Now let me rest I'm so tired, but remember I'll always be in your heart and I'll always love you." Nibiki said as she once more closed her eyes she took in a deep breath and exhaled and then was still. Through the tears Katrina could see Nibiki's Sailor Uniform change back into the clothes that she was wearing before she had transformed. Much to Kat's surprise she found herself wearing the same uniform that Nibiki had been wearing just seconds ago. Kat knew that her best friend's final words were true that she would always be with her. She smiled and transformed back into her normal self. 'This is going to take a lot of getting used to.' She thought to herself. When she looked out the window she could once again see the sun shining down on the Earth. She took that as a sign that all would be well with the world and her new life. Yes, she would grieve for her fallen friend. But she now had a new reason for living. She was not going to fail her best friend'sdying request. She would somehow find a way.

Well what do you all think? This was just one of the many ideas I've had flying though my head for the last few months. As always all negative, and positive criticism is welcome as well as any flames or death threats. Peace Out Invid HellCat =)
