Cub Scout Pack 231 -  Open Registration and Ice Cream Social

Since 1930, the Boy Scouts of America has helped younger boys through Cub Scouting.  It is a year-round family program designed for boys who are in the first grade through fifth grade (or 7, 8, 9, and 10 years of age).

Cub Scouting means "doing." Everything in Cub Scouting is designed to have the boys doing things. Activities are used to achieve the aims of Scouting—citizenship training, character development, and personal fitness.

Cub Scout Pack 231 supports many activities for the Scouts.  Last year, some of our activities included:  Moonlight Maze at Lyman Orchards, Hartford WolfPack Hockey, Cub Blizzard at Camp Mattatuck, Pinewood Derby, New Britain RockCats Baseball, camping at Hammonasset Beach State Park.  We are planning to ‘Sleep with the Sharks’ at the Norwalk Maritime Center in January.

Registration for this coming year will be Tuesday, September 10 at 7:00pm at the Wolcott Congregational Church. There is a registration fee of $25 per child.  This will also be our first Pack meeting which will include an ice cream social so bring your appetites with you!  At that time, we’ll also be looking for any parents who would be interested in becoming leaders.

For more information, contact our Cub Master, Bill Notation, at 879-9630 or our Assistant Cub Master, Chuck Waldo, at 879-6273. Or, come visit our high-striker booth at the Wolcott Lion’s Fair (Aug 16-18).   We hope to see you soon!
