We decided that we wanted to concentrate on the wonderful person Scott was and how he lived his life to the fullest, we felt that having an event that was positive and would help others would be the right thing. On the one year anniversary of his death we decided to do more than just mourn the loss of the man we called 'The Beav'. We feel that Scott will not have died in vain if a positive legacy can be made in his name. Since then we have been able to establish a memorial fund with which to make charitable contributions to society. All proceeds from the 1st Scott 'Beav' Atteberry Memorial Poker Run were used to help many, including giving Christmas gifts and diapers to the babies at Ferguson High School teen mom program. It was also used to help Ferguson High School to provide a better learning environment for the students. The benefit was also able to help Jason Vallieres with some of his medical expenses incurred from an accident he was in several weeks prior to the event. We hope to be able to help many others in the Longmont area as well as Loveland/Ft Collins... Scott had made so many friends in those areas that he lived.
