The Three Most Important Ideas

The Unexamined Life
The unexamined life is one of the most important ideas in the
course because it applies directly to our lives all the time. The unexamined life has to do with our awareness of our actions, words, and how we live our lives. We need to apply the concept of the unexamined life to our world view as well as our view on drugs, sexuality, and driving. The unexamined life was a recurring theme of the course and very important to our growth as a person and a man for others.
The Problem of Evil
The problem of evil was a major theme of the text because of its prevalence in the world today. There is a lot of suffering in the world today, and a lot of people who lose loved ones. The problem of evil has to do with the fact that evil would seem to counteract God's existence. The problem comes up in everyone's lives and it can be a major challenge to faith. The text offers ways to approach the problem, and shows it as a challenge to faith. I will come across the problem one day and some ways of approaching it could be helpful.
Science
The section on science as a challenge to faith and as a leader to faith was one of the most important things that I took from the semester. As both science and Theology seek the truth, they can both coexist. They merely search for different kinds of truth. Faith in God should not be shaken by science.
