IJN Takao is a class 3, 3.5 unit heavy cruiser under the IR/CWCC rules. She was originally built by Rob Clark of NABS from a Ralph Coles hull. The ship was dismantled to be rebuild but Rob never got around to it. I then came into the model and totally rebuilt her. She is armed with one 50rnd bow cannon and dual 50 rnd stern cannons that fire together. The pump was reduced to a 1/2 unit by this move, but seldome due cruisers in good hands take alot of damage so the 1/2 unit pump should be sufficent. The Battlers Connection Cannons from Veneto were used in this ship. They worked excellent in Veneto, so they should work the same in Takao. She has seen two events and three battles in 2003. First battle she was unarmed and recieved 31 belows, not to mention a good deal of aboves and still stayed afloat with out any problems. Second and third battles were at CanNats 6 2003 and she sank both battles, both due to human error. First sink was due to a drained battery and loss of power after only about 5 or 10 minutes of battle and the second sink was due to me accidentally kicking sand in the hull at launch which later clogged the small 1/2 unit pump outlet.
Model is SOLD as of October - 2003. |
