The construction of H.M.S. Sheffield in 1/144 scale for R/C Warship combat. This model is from the plans by Tom Jass and the article that he wrote in the Spring 1991???? issue of "R/C Model Boats and Racing. I will detail my own modifications and revisions to the construction. This was my first try at combat ship construction. Currently the superstructure is nearly complete and the ship has been put back into "mothball" status as AXIS projects have taken priority. I was going to make a fiberglass mould, but then decided to forget that with my first attempt. Model is for sale as of October - 2003. Model Now Sold!! |

^ At the start of construction. At rear are the rolled plans, in frontare the photocopies of the frames glued to bristol board, or use a thin cardboard. The tracings are then cut out when the glue dries and transfered to 1/4" Birch ply. Early winter or spring 1999? photo. |
