IJN Musashi is built almost strictly from a Battlers Connection Kit. The only real change I made was to buy a Ralph Coles Superstructure for battling and save the one that came with the kit for adding extra detail for shows. The superstructure in most of the photos is the detailed one for the shows made from the Battlers Connection kit. She is a class 7, 8 unit ship under the IR/CWCC rules. Tripple stern cannons, and two sets of dual sidemounts in the forward turrets. I also bought all other equipment needed to complete from Battlers Connection, like the Airtronics VG 6 channel Radio, cannon system, hardware/running kit, regulator, tank, etc.
The ship is now battle ready and has seen her first battles at Sam Slick Days in Windsor, Nova Scotia, in the pouring rain and Musashi claimed her first sinks that day. Second event attended was CANNATS 6 in Darthmouth, Nova Scotia Sept. 2003 she proved even more deadly at this event and sank the USS Alabama using her starboard sidemounts in only 30 seconds!!!
IJN Musashi is currently in need of some minor patching and touch up painting on the hull. The ship handles extreamly well and has no problems with high winds, rain or rough water conditions. Damage had occurred to the port propeller and strut from a couple run-ins with rocksturing testing, but this was successfully repaired and she has proven herself to be a reliable and a very formidable opponent in battle. She is looking forward to sinking even more allied barges during the 2004 battle season as well as a possible trip to the US Nats (aka: InterNats). |
