HMS Sheffield is now accompanied by another Town/Southampton class heavy crusier, a second H.M.S. Sheffield, which was renamed the H.M.S. Newcastle. H.M.S. Sheffield has once again been mothballed as AXIS ship construction has become top priority. See the links on the left for the latest news on these British Heavy Cruisers.
These two British cruisers are the only competition for a large AXIS fleet consisting of IJN Musashi, DBM Vittorio Veneto, DKM Bismarck, IJN Takao, HSK Komet, HSK Ems and DKM Scharnhorst in New Brunswick. There have been roumors of a WWI German Dreadnaught that has no BB Cannons in the central New Brunswick area. Additionally there are a few interested fellows here in the Southern New Brunswick area, but they have yet to build or battle anything.
HMS Newcastle is now SOLD. I can see no point in keeping so many R/C combat ships, so HMS Sheffield is up for sale, HSK Komet and Ems and IJN Takao are all SOLD as of October - 2003. HMS Sheffield is now SOLD, as of December - 2003.
The HMS Barham has been rebuiltfor a new local Saint John battler. Her testing went well and she competed for the first time since refit in CanNats 2004. She has proved to be reliable and a very good sea keeping ship.
