Sogno

Ho sognato che camminavo

in riva al mare con il Signore

         e rivedevo sullo schermo del cielo

         tutti i giorni della mia vita passata.

         E per ogni giorno trascorso

         apparivano sulla sabbia due orme:

         le mie e quelle del Signore.

Ma in alcuni tratti ho visto una sola orma,

proprio nei giorni più difficili della mia vita.

Allora ho detto: "Signore

io ho scelto di vivere con te

e tu mi avevi promesso

che saresti stato sempre con me.

Perché mi hai lasciato solo

proprio nei momenti più difficili?"

E lui mi ha risposto:

"Figlio, tu lo sai che io ti amo

e non ti ho abbandonato mai:

i giorni nei quali

c'è soltanto un'orma sulla sabbia

sono proprio quelli

in cui ti ho portato in braccio".

This unknown author wrote of a dream

and in the dream was walking down the beach beside the Lord.

And as they walked, above him in the sky was reflected each stage and experience of his life.

Reaching the end of the beach, and of his life,

he turned back and looked back down the beach and saw the two sets of footprints in the sand,

except that he looked again and realized that every once

in a while there was only one set of footprints.

And each time there was only one set of footprints,

it was when the experience reflected in the sky was one of despair,

of desolation, of great trial or grief in his life.

And he turned to the Lord and said,

``You said that if I would walk with You, You would always be beside me and take my hand.

Why did You desert me?

Why are You not there in my times of greatest need?''

And the Lord said,

"My precious, precious child,

I love you and would never leave you.

During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints,

it was then that

I carried you.

                Am visat ca ma plimbam pe tarmul marii impreuna cu Dumnezeu

            si vedeam pe cer ca pe un ecran mare toate zilele din viata mea.

Si pentru fiecare zi trecuta apareau pe nisip doua urme:

ale mele si ale Domnului.

Dar in cateva zone era o singura urma,

chiar in zilele cele mai grele din viata mea.

Atunci am zis : "Doamne, eu am ales sa traiesc cu Tine

iar Tu mi-ai promis ca Vei sta tot timpul cu mine.

De ce m-ai lasat chiar in momentele cele mai grele ?"

Iar El mi-a raspuns :

"FIULE , STII BINE CA TE IUBESC SI NU TE-AM ABANDONAT NICIODATA :

ZILELE IN CARE ESTE O SINGURA URMA SUNT ZILELE IN CARE
