Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse ARLHS USA-411

Here's a shot of the lighthouse from the south side of the inlet from a somewhat controversial location.  This spot has had a bait store for quite some time but has recently (and without the proper permitting) turned into a waterfront bar/nightclub!

This is Jupiter Lighthouse Park.  The meticulously manicured soccer fields are off limits most of the time.  Notice the small playground to the right in front of the pavilion.

The building to the right has bathrooms and a payphone. I didn't find any hours of operation for the park on the premises so I don't know what time they lock them up but they obviously do as evidenced by the big padlocks attached to the door.  I have only visited the park during daylight hours and they have always been open.  Although not visible, my operating position is in the center of this photo across the field from the bathrooms.

In the far corner of the field are the tennis courts and this big shady tree with a picnic table.  This is where I choose to setup my station.  The lighthouse is obscured by the palm tree in the right of the photograph.  The blue building to the right is a Coast Guard Exchange and there are tennis courts to the left.  In addition to the shade provided by the tree there is a water fountain near the entrance to the tennis courts.

At the far end of the park is the building where the lighthouse tours start.  Follow the walkway on the left side of the building to the lighthouse gift shop on the backside of the building.
