Naraku is the villian that many of the characters find themselves up against. Actually, all of the main characters have a score to settle with Naraku. Strangely, this universal hate binds all of them together in their quest to kill Naraku. Inuyasha, Sesshoumaru, Kikyo and Sango were decieved by him. Miroku's family was cursed, Kouga's tribe was wiped out at Naraku's behest, Kagura is trapped, and certainly everyone on the show has been threatened by him. Without Naraku, each character's life would have been very different and many of them would have never met. Naraku is a crucial character as well as an ultimate villain.
Kagura, along with Kanna, was made from Naraku's essence. She is able to control the wind as she wishes, using moves such as "dance of the dragons." What is interesting about this character is that she is more complicated than she initially appears. Though she follows Naraku's orders it becomes obvious that she desperately seeks her own freedom.
Kanna is certainly a strange character if nothing else. She rarely speaks and is never seen without her weapon, a mirror. Though she appears as a child she shows little emotion and is more apathetic to her freedom, or lack thereof. However, what is interesting is that Kagura and Kanna appear to have a very stable relationship and even refer to each other as sisters.
