Dear brothers and sisters, there is something that is missing from us. // There is not a lack of information, but we lack to study it and to understand it and then to take it into our practice. // It is very strange that we have not tried to read even, not to understand, (and) not to follow all these very good things, very necessary things which have been told to us by God Himself, let it be through the Masters. // But all this other knowledge is vast and vast; volumes and volumes are there. // I sometimes happen to go to some offices of doctors who have really great volumes of books. // Also I happened to go to the offices of some lawyers. There also half of their house was full of books. // I was wondering how this small man is to accommodate this very, very huge and huge (amount of) literature in his small head. [Laughter] // You have managed to collect the whole Pacific Ocean which is of brackish water, // and you are proud of it // - how many have good eyes, how many such other things like that we have got - // but we could not come in contact with a drop of sweet water, of elixir from God which is our life. // Masters have really told that we cannot live on the arrangements, knowledge, or wisdom of this world. // It has been very explicitly informed, "I am the vine. You are my branches. // As long as you are embedded in me, you will flourish and will bring ample fruit." // But a warning has also been given: "But if you are disconnected from me, you will go dry and will only be used for burning purposes." // This is also told in all the scriptures because the truth is to be told by all those who have found the truth. Those who have not found (it), they are to find it and to believe it and then follow it. // When they have found it and also found the benefits of it, then they will also begin to believe and also will begin to tell others (about it). // In Indian literature also, it has been explained that man is not to live on this world. He is like an inverted tree. A normal tree gets food from down, but the inverted tree will have to get food from above. // In India at Chandigarh when I was on long leave from my service I was meditating for this purpose. // In the morning I could have a little breakfast, (and) then I would go out to a retreat place that is called an ashram. // I was taking about 200 grams of milk and one apple (with me) as my lunch. // I used to come back at about 8 or 9 in the evening, as I was using the whole day over there in seclusion in meditations. // In the night when I came back, then I would take my dinner. After having a light dinner, then I was again to start meditating, maybe up to 11 or 12 or 1. // I had a neighbor who was quite a good person. // But I rarely had a talk with him because I was busy in my own relation - that which is my real relation. First I had to deal with that. // That is our Father God. If we develop our relation with Father God, then all the world will turn into our friend and everybody will be helping us. // I had understood this basic principle of life. // God says that, "I am the vine and you are my branches." // If He is our lifestyle, everything is to come from Him, and what comes from Him, only that will be our lifestyle. Then why shouldn't we first be connected to Him? // Generally I was not caring so much for my relatives or friends, and they were complaining to me because of my indifference towards them. // I was having one principle: [Master puts his index finger on his closed mouth] // with closed mouth and a little listening. // When they had vomited out their anger and their hearts and they were easy, then I was saying, "Excuse me please. // Unluckily, I am not such a sweet fruit for you; I'm a little untasty. [Laughter] // It would be good of you if you keep me. If you throw me out, I will also not worry about it." // Then after a little while they were quite friendly. // So this is the law. The people of the world or the negativity of the world will try to just hold you, catch you, press you, // and if you are pressed, then it will press you more and more, more and more. // But if you recede back a little and don't accept them, then they will come (and say), "Oh, my dear, let us go along." // In this way I could keep myself safe from all these worldly, unnecessary, useless bondages. // Why do I call these useless, unnecessary bondages? Because we can do without this, and we can be happy without this, and with this we can really suffer. // If a person is living with life, he can be connected with all persons. But if a person is not living, if he is dead, then where are the relations, where are the connections? // Now all these worldly relations, all these worldly connections are not (of) any life for us to supply us with all that we need. // We are all like patients in a hospital who can sympathize with each other. // But there is no purpose that we sympathize with each other and remain patients and suffering. // First, all of us have to come in contact with the doctor, follow him, and go along with his instructions. Then our friendship will be very easy and really working. // I remember in India I had gone to my Master and there was an ordinary darshan in the evening at about 4 p.m. // Some people, about 25, were sitting in front of the Master and I was also among them. // Some of those persons, who were there present, were telling the Master about their difficulties, problems, or sufferings. // No doubt Master's talk did not give anything substantial, but in his thought there is everything. // Your other relatives and friends may be telling you the same things but when Masters will say, there will be a certain power in those words which will go into your heart and will console it really. // Their words are potent because they come out from a great loving, powerful heart and reach our heart even. // But after dealing with all those, then he gave a little sweeping remark // that, "My dear I love you and you come to me. It is not that I don't like you; I want that you are coming to me. // But you are coming to me with sufferings, problems, worries, and so many other difficulties. I like to have you, but not in this condition. // But my dear, if you had practised that medicine of the holy Naam in the form of light and sound which I have given you, then all your difficulties, problems, and sufferings would have been attended to by the competent God power. // Although it is very clear (and) open information, but this very secret information still is secret for us because we could not approach this, we could not catch it, and it still remains secret. // There is only one authority in these three worlds which can control your sufferings, problems, worries, (and) diseases certainly, surely, successfully - // not (with) any charges, but as a father helps his child very lovingly and voluntarily offers his services. // Unasked, He will shower all His blessings, all grace, all love, and everything good upon us. // There is some tendency. If there is a flower, it will go on giving its fragrance. There may be or may not be somebody to enjoy it. For that flower it is nothing to worry about. // Similarly, if there is some kind of rotting, some worms will be there, mosquitoes will be there, and some bad odor will automatically be going along. One may or may not hate it. // This world is like this. The negative power is to work, go on working, go on working on everybody. People may be crying, people may be lamenting, people may be really suffering but nobody will take heed of it. It will go on putting all these sufferings, problems, worries, diseases (upon them) more and more, more and more. // If you are already suffering from pneumonia, it will not feel that, "This person is already suffering from pneumonia, I should not make him suffer more," but it will give you double pneumonia // because it has a natural function (to work this way). It cannot change from this trend. // Don't we know it? // I don't think anybody knows about it // because I find everybody is seeking some relief and some kind of benefit from this world. // This world will be also full of relief and all good things for you but these things are to be (expected or extracted) from your God. // The sun comes with such a great light that all the darkness of this world is eradicated, // and all those hard factors which are keeping us in hardness, in difficulties and problems in the night are automatically all gone. // The same world which was very frightening and very hard now has become wonderful, nice, and beautiful. // But you don't know why this is and how this change is there. // We know in this worldly lifestyle, but we do not know in this big Godly set-up. God says, "I am the vine and you are the branches. As long as you are embedded in me, you will flourish and will bring forth ample fruit." // Any things of this world, any relatives and friends, or your own efforts cannot maintain you, but (it is) only the life of God, the doer power of God that can help us. // The people of this world are existing, but what for? // I cannot say that we are living for some great future or very wonderful present, but I can say (that we are living) just only to suffer (and) to bear what(ever) is thrown upon us by that agency under which we are living. // There is a habit with a pigeon that if a cat is coming, then it feels the danger and then closes its eyes. // It feels that, "Now there is no danger." // But the danger has not closed the (cat's) eyes upon the pigeon, and the cat very easily comes, catches hold of the pigeon, and eats it up. // If there is something hard or dangerous, it is (of) no use to keep our knowledge closed from it, but we should know it, we should be vigilant, and perhaps we may be able to have some ways and means that we may be safe. // But the negative power has made such arrangements that it is not visible to us, // and it gives us all sufferings, all problems, worries, diseases, and hard situations but it is not appearing in itself that, "I am the cause." // It gets some kind of actions from you and then you feel like understanding that, "I have done something wrong and I am suffering" or you are having some problems or some hard dealings from your relatives or friends and then you are accusing and blaming those persons. // A dog will try to cut the stick that is being used by some user - man - // with the lack of understanding that, "This stick is beating me." It cannot understand that it is not the stick that is beating (it) but (there) is someone who is using it. // In this world this is a ruling: no one is a doer, no one can be good to you, no one can be bad to you, there is no friend, and nobody is your enemy. // But there is a very, very clear picture of this world that if you are not connected with God, the evil power, the negative power is already there. // This world is never empty of any of these two powers. // Either there should be light or automatically there will be darkness when there is no light. // When there is no light of God, then the darkness of the negative power will be really overpowering us, // and good are suffering, bad are suffering, big are suffering, low are suffering, everybody has to suffer. // There is no way that we can escape these sufferings - // no way, totally. There is no escape. Everybody has to suffer. // But there is a place which we (can) go to. That is inside us where there is God and the kingdom of God. // That is our parent tree, parent vine of which we are the branches. // When we are connected with it, we belong to it, we already have relation to it, and we are readily accepted. // Because we are part of it, so we belong to it. So everything that we need is there in it. // But a branch, that is separate from the parent tree (and) is taken anywhere and tenderly cared (for) in any way, will never find anything to maintain it because there is nothing where it will find what it really needs. // So we are children of God, our father is God, our mother is God. We are from Him; our life, our maintenance, everything is with Him. // As the disconnected branches go dry (and have) this life of dry wood, we are going along with each other and have felt (that) this is the only lifestyle which we are to go on (with). // But we have not found a little glimpse or taste of that great life so that we may come to know what is life. // In India I have got some persons who are meditating (intensively) from an early age. // Some of them are now meditating five years or six years. // Some of them have reached such a state that if they are eating food, even then they are keeping their eyes closed. // When the attendants say that, "You can open your eyes at least now," then they say that, "I can eat the food with closed eyes, but I cannot endure that loss which I am enjoying inside." // They are yet developing; they have not really reached the highest peak of life. // But this great lifestyle which is there, which I am trying to keep, is not something new. // What is meditation? Meditation is not some kind of technical or mechanical system. It is just (like when) a child needs (his) mother and the mother needs (her) child - they come together and meditate on each other. // When they are not together, they yearn for each other (and) are crying for each other. That is also meditation. // Then when they come together and the mother finds (her) child and the child finds (his) mother, both cling to each other. They are also, even then, meditating on each other. // When you are really attracted to each other and you are really found by each other or at least you are yearning for each other, then that is at the top. There is nothing else that is more powerful than that. Then that is really working as meditation. // Otherwise this is the process which we are going along with in our life, and it is a natural process (that) we cannot avoid. We have to think of something. // Some things are at the top of our thoughts, some are a little less (important). // To think of (our) mother, father, brothers, sisters, money, lands, or properties, that is our meditation. // It is a law that "As you think, so you become". // This is the reason that when we think of the world (our whole life) and will finish this life of ours, we will remain in this world which has come into our mind. It will take its place. // If a jewel is thrown into stones, it will remain as a stone. // Now if you, as a child of God, are now attending only to the physical world - stones, sands, waters, or some other things of this world - you have to lower (yourself) down, to degrade yourself. // I'm sorry to say, if you love your pet cat or pet dog, that will also really make you lower down because maybe in the next lives you yourself may become a dog or a cat. // Bodies are only changing according to the situation of our mind. // What is really filled in our mind, the outer body will also be of the same kind. // But why don't we upgrade ourselves by thinking of God? // But how to think (of Him)? // This is also a problem. // Everybody says that, "Love thy father God with all thy soul, with all thy heart, (and) with all thy mind." We have also listened (to this) so many times but we could not do it. Although we (have) tried, (but) it is not possible. // There are two ways to attract the mind. // The first (and) the best (way) is that we have somebody in front of us. We may have seen that person before or not but we can talk to that person, we can think of that person, and we can really realize (and) feel the presence of that person and our mind will be connected with that person. // It is also some kind of phenomenon that we have a little affection for what we see - the people may be good or bad. // As you would have seen that when some woman is pregnant, she feels like, both the couple feel like going through the abortion system. // What is this process? It is killing // because that child which is in the body of the mother is living. // But ask that mother that, "You should not worry about it. Let the child come out of your body, // and after that it will be very easy to kill that. // Just push it. It will be okay." // But a great change in the heart is there when the child is born and she looks at the child. (She will say), "Oh, my dear child, I am only for you. // I will live for you. I will die for you. I will suffer for you and I will do everything for you." // There is some kind of great awakening of relation of love when we find each other. // The child may be very, very hard (and) full of problems, worries, diseases, and sufferings, but the mother will not get tired in any way. // There is another way also. If you find some person who is related to you and is very wonderful, very nice, very good, then there is no reason that you should not love him. // This is our Father God. Why couldn't we love Him? Because we could not find Him, we could not know Him. // The second way of creating love is also there that we can have a little idea of a person whom we have seen and have found something good in him. // That also works in this world. We do not really ignore, we do not really feel separated (from) some relative or friend who has gone away from us, but we have a connection. // This is also a kind of meditation - a present meditation and a meditation on that thing that is not in front of us but we have seen and have felt the connection in our heart, and we can think of it. // So Masters know this process or phenomenon, and when they say what is told to us in the scriptures, "Love thy Father God with all thy soul, with all thy heart, with thy mind," they know (that) the (people) cannot do it. There is some process which has to be gone through. // Although that process is a little hard and it is not to be accomplished by any person of this world. // It is only to be conducted by God when He is adopting somebody in this world. That body is not to act, but the God in that body is to act. // When Master says, "I am the vine. You are my branches," it is not that body which we call Master that is speaking, but it is God in him that is saying (that). // So what is the competency of God? Only He can do. What can the other one do if no one has this competency? // But you know that in each moment of your existence, each cell of your existence, there is the doership of God. // We can be very proud of our inventions - cars, buses, and all other machinery - that these are working and we are working on these. // But there are some things which are going on which we are not acting on, but God is acting. // Your hair is growing, your nails are growing, your blood system is going on, your food is being digested, your breathing is going on, your heartbeat is going on, and all the cells of your body are going on working. How is it working? // How can the scientific, technical, or mechanical knowledge of this world answer this question? // The machinery of your body is not technical or mechanical machinery. It is Godly machinery. // There is nothing technical or mechanical functioning in it. It is just a thought that is working. // I just think, and my arm is up. // I have not pushed a button or changed a gear. // But in your car, in your bus, you will sit and say, "Go this direction," // but it will not do anything for you // because it is not Godly machinery, it is material machinery. // Therefore it is not really working, but you are working. // But your body is also not working as the driver; God is working in the machinery as the driver. // If your car has been made, you have not made (it), but it is this God power which is working in you that has made (it). // The trees and plants are going on growing and having foliage, having flowers, and having fruit. Who is making (that)? Somebody is making (that). That is God. // Don't just look at things superficially (but) just go a little deep(er) into it, and you will find that everywhere what is going on being done is directly or indirectly (done) by the God power. // Everything was and everything is made by Him. "There is nothing made that was not made by Him." // He is the only doer and no one else can find this authority. // Then why don't we understand this basic phenomenon of life and then act accordingly and then enjoy? // The difficulties and problems are only there when we misunderstand something. Then we do not approach the proper place, and we do not find proper results. // But when we have proper knowledge and approach the proper place for some thing, then everything is accomplished for us, (and) then we are satisfied. // Is this what I say not true? // (Those) who do not believe, please show their hands. // Is there anybody who does not believe it? // I may look with my glasses. [Laughter] // Very good. Thank God. // But my dear, if you believe, then do it. // It is for your goodness. It is not for me. // If the mother comes and asks the child, "Come to me," then it is not that the mother is to be benefited (but) the child is really needing the help of the mother. // When Master comes, he is already with God. He is already God. He is already complete in his kingdom. // This is the reason. He has all this knowledge, all this wisdom, and all this truth himself, and the negative power is not to influence him. // He is not dependent on any books, any knowledge, or any working of the mind and intellect. // He has his own Bible, his own scripture, God. // Everything is available in a proper, original, and fresh state. Then he can supply all of you (with) what is totally, 100% correct and working. // The life of this earth is dependent only on the Masters. // There had never been any time that this Master power was not working in this world // because Master is not body. He only adopts a body but goes on working all around in his greatness everywhere, // as the sun is shining. When the sun is away for a moment, there will be total darkness. // If there is daylight, it is only due to the sun. // In the same way, if there is no God in this world, this world cannot exist. // It is only God's existence in this world in the body of a human being that the three lower worlds are in existence and going along. // This is the manifestation of Word God. // "The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us." // This is also a declaration of the scriptures. // This Word, which was the maker of everything (and) there was nothing made that was not made by it, is there existing in this world to maintain it, and to further go on making it, and then (is) going along with it. // All this nature is going along with all its things since the world began due to this great power working in it. // It is also going along working in all other living beings. // As and when this power withdraws itself from all this existence, there will be total nothingness // because there is only God, there is nothing else than Him. // At some time there was no creation. There was only God in His own absolute form. // All His creative powers, all His competencies, all knowledge, all wisdom, ecstasy, (and) peace were just lying dormant in Him. He was enjoying His own self. // When there was creation, it was out of that existence (and) appeared in different forms and styles. // In the scriptures it has been told that, "If you say this is a ring of gold, this is some kind of bangle of gold, why don't you say it is gold?" // Really it is not a bangle, it is not a ring; its shape has been given to gold. // A ring may not remain a ring. A bangle may not remain a bangle. They can be changed. // But its basic existence as gold cannot be changed. // So it has been told by the Masters that, "Why do you go after the shapes, figures, and names? // Why don't you go to that reality which is basic, which will remain, which is ever unchangeable, // and which is approachable to you? You can have it, you can use it, and you can enjoy it. // All these shapes, all these names, and all these other existences are not belonging to us. They are only just imaginary. // God is there, the kingdom of God is there. There are no shapes, there are no names, there are no suchlike different styles. // But there is some kind of feeling, great love, great affection, as it is coming from one's own self. // As yet (when) you touch your body, you feel your own self. // In the same way, if you touch anything anywhere over there, you will find your own self. // In this world also, when you will look at somebody or will feel somebody, you will feel your own self, // and it works also as your own self. // So nothing comes, nothing goes, nothing dies, and nothing is born. // It is just a play of the God power in different forms. // So Master says that, "You come out of all this dilemma, and after coming out of it, then you enjoy what is really wonderful and real." // So this life is to be adopted by the human beings. It has been provided to us. It is (so) that man has been made like this that he can understand, he can do, and he can become. // I understand how you are suffering in this world. You are not satisfied with the present state. // Everywhere there is something hard, something hard, // and you feel like having some better place, better state, or better circumstances, // but you do not find it. // The information has not been given to you, or if given to you, it was not the proper agency. It was only given to the mind and intellect which cannot understand. // But Masters give you this information at your information level, which is soul, // which is already all knowledge, all wisdom and (has) everything in it. // He gives awakening to the soul, and soul is already in the kingdom of God with God and is connected with everything. // But my dear, work upon it. // A child who is born in the family of the king will not become a king at the time of birth. // In Indian mythology the child who is born to the king is called a would-be king. // When the child is called a would-be king, then every thought with which a man calls him (that) will be giving (him the idea) that, "I will be the king. I am a king. I am to be a king. I am to be a king." // This thought will go on working, and he will go on proceeding on that way of life. // This is also the procedure with us that we should always have this information that we are would-be God // that, "I am soul in this body. I have the kingdom of God and I have God, and I have to find it. // This way of life is there reserved for me. I have to adopt it, and these outer things will automatically be added unto me." // But these things have not been there in our heart as yet. // Even those who are initiated since long also could not change their way of thinking. // They could not clean their house, and all that bad odor, dross and dirt which are there have their effect upon us. // Our nose, ears, and eyes all have been clogged with all this dirt, negativity, and bad odors. // How can we see that wonderful existence? How can we hear that great music of the spheres, and how we can smell our wonderful God and the kingdom of God? // A child has to be worked upon that it is grown up - twenty years, twenty-five years, or thirty years - and then it is ready for holding a kingdom to be a successful king. // This is also the way. We have been given the way of life, but we have not really worked upon it. // In the scriptures it is written that you are to meditate, no doubt, for three hours, four hours // but all other twenty-four hours of the day you are to go on thinking of this great lifestyle which you are to work for. // This simran of the five words, which are charged by the God power, has been given to you (so) that no thought from the negative power will be able to interfere in your Godly thoughts. // It should go on day and night, and you will go on proceeding forward. // This is the way how you will proceed further and will reach the destination. // But there are so many people who are initiated a long time back, but they could find no progress. // What is the reason? // If a child is going to school and goes ten steps forward and goes eleven steps backward, // what will be the progress of that child towards school? // You are, I think, good mathematicians. [Laughter] // The progress will not be positive. It will be negative. // When we are meditating, let it be we are meditating on light and sound, but still our mind is not meditating. // I mean to say not meditating on God, but meditating on the world. // Perhaps there can be one second in this three hour or four hour duration that the mind is just settled in the sound and is connected to the light also. // So you are allowed to write this duration of time which you sit physically - // that you have meditated three hours, four hours, or five hours. // But really that time, (in) which you are really connected in connection with the light and sound, is only to be counted as your meditation. // What is the time (when) we are going back? All other times (when) we are thinking of the world. // Working is not so important because working is with the body, but thought is with your soul, your attention. // If a child is given to read some lesson, he will not learn that lesson even (in) some years // if his attention is not on the lesson. // But a lesson which is attended (to) for two minutes will really be grasped. // So your physical and mental conditions are not important, but your attention is important. // That is the power of the Master. It is not in your power to control the outgoing faculties of the mind. // So there is doership of God in Master. Try to avail it which is already available. // So please, please, please do it. // Then I will be pleased, and your Father will also be pleased // because I feel that nobody in this world should suffer. // If a river of water is flowing behind you, why are you thirsty? // If God and the kingdom of God, which is all wonderful, wonderful, is there in you, then why are you suffering? // This is the only way of getting rid of sufferings. There is no other way. // You may understand today or you may understand later on. If you understand later on, you are only prolonging your sufferings. // So try to work for it, and ask for help from the Master. He is already there for this purpose. // Now further program is also there for your knowledge. // 1
