Welcome to V-TECHS Battle of the Majors November 1999!
Battle of the majors 1999 proven to be the best ever battle of all time. The team format for the BOM consisted of three tech teams ( Team 4=1st to 3rd qtr, Team 5= 4th to 6th qtr day program, Team 6= all six qtrs from the evening tech program)and three business teams (business majors for both day and evening programs were divided equally by majors to form their three teams). The playing format is for tech vs tech and business vs business (I heard rumors business students complained that tech teams always win because they have more men than women (what ever happened to equal opportunities?))

Our Team Name and Banner: Our team name was voted for by all three quarter classes. Amelia Julio's (3rd qtr) entry received the most vote, therefore Amelia designed the banner. "V-techs" as in "Virus" or as in "Victory" with the picture of a "Virus". This was painted (supposely with the help of her cousin Jon Julio) on a 3ft x 8ft gray canvas with an outline of a "Circuit Board" in the background. Our team banner was completed as scheduled and was the first banner displayed at the student lounge.

Team Captains: These are the main players responsible for planning and executition of VTECH team events. Left to right, 1st Qtr co-captain Steven Mendez, Vtech team captain Talafaalelotu toliniu, 2nd Qtr co-captain David Bell (behind), 1st Qtr co-captain Anne Rubel, 3rd Qtr co-captain Dillard Spray and 2nd Qtr co-captain Lanny Finkey.

Team Cheer: This was considered difficult due to the lack of inputs from the team. I only received an input from Annes' class which was incorporated with my materials and we were able to engineer a winning cheer.

Team Sculpture: Team members submitted a few inputs for the sculpture, they were all great. The only problem was they were hard to be sculptured using can goods. The Heald "h" loco was my idea with Lanny Finkey being the architect. The arrnagements and can goods decoration was all team efforts supervised by David Bell.

Review the "Score Board" As you folks can see the change of points during the battle events. Our team won almost all the events between the battles with Tech Side and Robo Tech. We were motivated, aggresive and enjoy every moment of the event.
