The Allendale Melodians were concieved out of a love of music, the Civil War, and authenticity. i guess we got tired of sitting around a camp fire and watching "Reenactors" plunk away at "traditional" rendetions of period songs on modern instruments. We try very hard to replicate not only the sounds but also the look and feel of a mid 19th century Minstrel performence.
