SAMANTHA 7 MAILING LIST
You can join a Samantha 7 mailing list by visiting the front page of this site. It will be used to notify subscribers of updates to this site, and of any important or late breaking news bits.

BACK AND STILL GOING:

Hello and welcome back to the site, Samantha 7 fans! First and foremost, Samantha 7 feels a deep sadness, and sends their sympathy and condolences to the families and friends of all those who have been affected by the horrific events that occured on September 11th. May God Bless the victims, and may they never be forgotten.

I greatly apologize for the lack of updates over the past two months, but aside from band inactivity with the result being not very much to report, I have to admit the the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11th really affected me. I just really wasn’t sure what was going on for a while, nor what I was going to (or wanted to) do. But over time, I realised that these attacks are as much “mental” as they are “physical”, devised to scare us into changing our normal way of life. So as I was coming around, I decided to try and return to things as normal as possible, like the way they were before. I guess I finally took heed of the great speeches by New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani.

So on November 11th, Rememberance Day in Canada, I re-open the site in honour of the victims of Sept. 11th, the brave soldiers who have fought to keep Canada and the United States free, and for the current armed forces who will continue to fight for that freedom in the days ahead.

KRYS AND FRANCIS:

Mr. Baratto has been doing some session work as of late. He says “I’ve been working on various kinds of projects ranging from Kravitz-like stuff to modern rock’n roll type of stuff.” He adds that he is “Lovin’ it” and that there’s “Lots of stuff going on.” Krys also mentioned possibly working on an album that Francis got hired to play drums on.

Speaking of Francis, he’s in a band now called Cynical Side which is playing shows around the L.A. area, and shopping for a record deal. If you get a chance, definitely go see them live, and check out their website at www.cynicalside.com.

MAILING LIST:

I’d like to thank everyone for all their emails and suggestions about a new mailing list service. I have searched for one that is at least as good as ListBot was, unfortunately there isn’t one out there at this time. So, I will use the one by Yahoo until something better comes along. I should have it up and running in a little while. Once again, thanks for all the emails. I really appreciate everyone’s help.

Will write some more stuff soon, that’s all for now.

MAILING LIST NEWS...

Hello Samantha 7 fans! Just wanted to inform everyone that the S7 mailing list service we were using here (by ListBot) has shut down, and is no longer active. This means that we presently do not have a functioning mailing list. I did however download and save everyone’s email address who subscribed before. I am currently looking at other lists that we can use and will choose the best one, at which time I will integrate everyone from the old list to the new one. I hope to have this finished in the next little while, and will post about it here as well as through the list to let everyone know when it’s ready.

PHOTOS PAGE...

I’m also working on the photos page as I mentioned before. I’m just working out some bugs with the pop up windows for the BAND N FANS page, and putting together the S7 LIVE page. Just as I did with the BNF page, I will put up the “work in progress” and let everyone see the page, and will then continue to work on the pop up window part. I hope everyone enjoys it. Your comments are always welcome.

That’s all for now,
Take care.

Latest News ( 05 / 27 / 2001 )

· Sorry for the lack of Samantha 7 news over the past while, but there is really nothing to report with C.C. focusing on Poison. However, as always, as soon as Krys lets me know of some updates, they’ll be reported right here.

· As I’m sure all of you know by now, The Official Samantha 7 Website has moved from its original URL to www.geocities.com/samantha7site. The site still hasn’t totally “moved in” yet, so please bear with us if some links, etc., aren’t functioning yet, or if you notice any other differences or inconsistencies throughout the site. One thing being worked on currently is adding some new pics to the PHOTOS page, along with ones that have been sent in by you, the fans. This is a welcome relief from the problems we had with the server at the original location that prevented me from adding any. If you are reading this and would like to submit your pictures - live shots of the band on stage, and/or pics of you and the guys during the aftershow meet-n-greet - please send them >here<. Make sure to include the date and venue in the email, as well as who the people are in the pics with the band.

Thanks for all your support.

Latest News ( 02 / 18 / 2001 )

· It is with great disappointment that I inform the loyal Samantha 7 fans of this news, but as most of you I’m sure have heard by now, Francis Ruiz has in fact decided to leave the band and move on to other musical projects. Therefore, he will not be touring Europe with Samantha 7 over the next 6 weeks. He and Krys still remain great friends and wish each other the best of luck in everything! Francis would undoubtedly like to thank all the fans for being supportive of him throughout this time, especially over the last few weeks. He really enjoyed meeting and talking to many of you while on the road this past fall, and sends his many thanks! His leg is also healing fine and will be as good as new again soon.

· In the meantime, Samantha 7 has left for Europe and will be doing some shows there on their own, and some with Great White. They will not, however, do the extended run of the tour due to the album not yet being released throughout the entire European continent. The band lineup for these shows will be
C.C. DeVille, Krys Baratto, and Ty Longley on rhythm guitar and vox, along with Derrick Pontier on drums.

· In closing, I’d like to wish Francis good luck with all his future musical endeavours.

Latest News ( 01 / 25 / 2001 )

· On Monday, January 15th, C.C. DeVille did an interview with Comedy World on their program called The Manversation - which is hosted by Greg Behrendt and Dave Anthony. What better forum is there for C.C. to do an interview, than a comedy interview on a comedy show?! C.C. was his usual funny self that night, while Greg and Dave did a good job as well, leaving not one dull moment during the entire interview! Luckily, Comedy World archived the entire thing, and you can listen to it by going to their site, then doing a search on “C.C. DeVille”. The results will bring up the archived interview he did, which is divided into a few sections.

You should also be able to find another interview he did two days later (Wednesday, January 17th), on The Future with Ahmet and Kennedy. The hosts are Ahmet Zappa and Kennedy from MTV.

· Also, the Rock Goddess Diana DeVille made a mention of C.C.’s appearance on ABC’s Politically Incorrect, along with some other Poison info, in her KNAC.com editorial called The Hair Lair. You can read it by clicking right here.

Latest News ( 01 / 08 / 2001 )

· First of all, C.C., Krys, and Francis hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. They thank each and every one of you for your support during the past year, and for coming out to the shows. They’re very eager to get back out on tour and see you all again real soon!

· Now for some cool places online to catch Samantha 7. They recently did an interview with the online magazine, YourMVP.net. Click right here to check out what the guys have to say.

After you read the interview, there’s also a place on the front page where you can vote for Samantha 7 to win YourMVP’s best cover story of 2000. Make sure you vote.

Thanks goes to YourMVP for a cool interview, linking this site as the official one, and for asking the band questions based on the interviews found here. They obviously checked this site out and we appreciate it.

· The band also did a great interview with KNAC.com deejay Diana DeVille in October 2000. Unfortunately, I couldn’t link it then because I was having problems with the server. But all is smooth now, so read it this second by clicking here. Diana has avery nice voice, no attitude, and her on-air style is like talking and hanging out with a friend, while playing some cool tunes. All that makes her probably one of the best deejays today. Thanks goes to Di for linking this site, and especially for her good work.
