PUPPY BOWL 2004

*On Super Bowl Sunday we watched the PUPPY BOWL 2004*			We're Starting to Play!
2/1/04 Barking at me! I guessI am "the shadow"			The babies are just starting to walk, but in true afghan form they are swatting and gnawing on one another, and any one who ventures in! They have the "chameleon" wobbly legs, but they are trying! It seems the front just won't co-operate with the back end! A lot of tumbling! We have been bottle feeding and tomorrow is the big day- First Meal! Today the "lil raptors", as my son calls them, were licking in Mom's food bowl at the meat, so we will try them on a mix of the wet food and Esbilac(Milk replacer) they have been on. they sound just like baby velicoraptors chirping and growling! What we feed: Oceanus and Diva have been on "Wellness Holistic Feed" and Eagle Pack canned food. Eagle Pack brand I love to use as its all natural, holistic, non-preservative chopped meats and veggies! We do supplement adults, Oceanus too, with Summerwinds products- and I have to say- the whiteness of nails(calcium levels good) and SHINEY Coats I LOVE. Not just a shameless plug to Loco's breeder and pups co-breeder, but just noticeable results! I mix Diamond (31/12 Puppy and Gestating/Lactating Adult) dry food with Eagle wet foods, and dry Eagle Pack (Adult Premium 30/12) for Diva and Oceanus' dry part of her meals (4 a day to build her back to weight). Diva, we are trying to get hipbones back on- so just once! But, when puppies start eating we use beef Purina Puppy Chow- they love it! We also have started integrating some raw foods with the girls, the first 2 days after Oceanus had whelped- she wouldnt touch any dog food..just cooked meats(liver esp), raw veggies(green beans and peas! esp) pasta or rice dishes(cheesier the better), cottage cheese and yogurts, with her supplements. The puppies are so strong and in vivid health ! These foods above we had started after reading about raw diets, but partial seems to work with ours. Tuesday is dog stew night!
