In the beginning of the show Duo even tries to kill Heero but then only ends up saving him when an OZ officer, Sally Po, takes him into some medical institute. What are the odds? Since then Heero slowly began to trust creating the odd friendship. We can also assume that Duo has a thing for Hilde. They are always together once they meet.
