The Grammar Page

The first section of grammar for this chapter involves prepositions.

When using prepositions, such as el, la, a, and de, there are contractions involved in some of the combinations.
For instance, a and el combine to make al. In the same way, de and el combine to make del.

Marcos esta a la izquierda del teatro - Marcos is to the left of the theater.

The other major issue covered in this chapter is the conjugation of past-tense verbs, and all special rules involved with that.

The endings for past tense AR verbs are...

Yo....-i
Tu....-aste
El/Ella/Ud.-o
Nosotros...-amos
Ellos/Ellas...-aron

And for ER verbs..

Yo...-i
Tu...-iste
El/Ella...-io
Nosotros...-imos
Ellos/Ellas...-aron

AND for IR Verbs

Yo...-i
Tu...-iste
El/Ella...-io
Nosotros...-imos
Ellos/Ellas...-ieron

So, for example, the verb Vivir would be Vivi, Viviste, Vivio, Vivimos, Vivieron.

Verbs such as Jugar and Buscar change from -o to -ue, as was covered in class...this is important to remember.

Now, go see if you learned anything...
