It was the epitome of early morning when Gytaith awoke, surveying her
playground. The slightest shred of azure had just broken over the
horizon, and only the earliest of early risers had stumbled into the Living
Caverns to pour their first cups of klah, coffee, or whatever else may
suit them.
Sleeping somewhere on four ledges were five males, each seeking to best
her in flight. They thought themselves better than her...more skilled
than her... Or at least... moreso than the others competing against
them. But she had something none of them had, or could hope to have: the
element of surprise.
As Gytaith sat poised on the edge of their temporary nidus, eyeing the
herdbeasts below, her heart began to race. Adrenaline pounded through
her veins and her facetted eyes took on the deep indigo of desire.
Not until the very second when the green leapt from her perch and
towards a pack of screaming bovines did Elmenorae start out of bed, gasping.
"Gytaith!"
Panicked, the greenrider flailed around her for the nearest thing that
could provide some shred of decency. She wrapped the closest option: a
sheet, around herself and rushed for the door.
As Gytaith blooded her kill, Karuth was the first one on the scene. Shortly after he was followed by Ksathra, then Nintunfon, Shkora and Cihteli flew in at nearly the exact same moment. As she looked them over, all she had for them was contempt. But they had all met her requirements...and they were all here. Well then, let the games begin.
The dragoness leapt into the air, narrowly avoiding the grasp of
Cihteli as he flailed for her during takeoff. Shrieking, she thwapped him
with her tail. That would teach him.
The brown shrieked, returned to the ground, and became more interested
in playing with his food.
Craning her neck to eye her chasers, she weighted the remaining four
males in her mind. Someone who would please her who had someone who could
please Elmenorae...
She shrieked in delight as Karuth picked up a burst of speed, rushing
after her. She lifted herself up on the same thermal, beating madly to
keep ahead of him. Nintunfon and Shkora were beginning catch up as well.
As she turned to tease them, the twilight dragon she had had her eye on
grew a look of anger on his face. Alarmed and confused, she turned:
seeking to evade him and tease the two males beneath him. How dare he look
disinterested!
But when she turned around, she saw the reason for his ire. Just as she
spun in the air to change directions, she slammed right into a massive,
red body. Gytaith shrieked and, mortified, flailed against her captor.
It wasn't supposed to end this quick. Not like this. But it had.
Ksathra held the green tightly and twined around her. And, after a few
moments, it didn't matter any more...
Below, Elmenorae was only a few minutes into the flight nidus. She
turned to face who two lusty chasers, just as her dragon had, and was
equally alarmed at the flood of emotions as her dragon twined with the
ember-banded male.
Stepping forward, Revlis snatched away her sheet and caught her up just
as quickly as his dragon had hers. And neither had any intentions of
letting their catch go.
