Hoffman was a well-known equipment manufacturer in the heyday of B&W and the early days of color TV. Sales seemed to be stronger on the left coast rather than the east, but they were very popular. Tubes were made by the first line companies like GE & RCA
and private labeled for them. Tube writing was orange, the date code was wwyy with no dash. The appropriate RETMA code for the original manufacturer was shown also. At one time the company was known as Cortron Industries. |
