As promised on the Rauland page, I'm re-showing the Rauland box and cover a little more Rauland/Zenith history as I understand it. As I said Rauland was a Zenith subsidiary for making tubes. At some
point they limited Rauland to only making CRT's. At that time they began buying their tubes from other manufacturers. The older box on your left was BR (before Rauland). It was a sealed, push through to test box and the writing was yellow.
They were
all first line quality tubes and they had the courage (and respect) to put the original manufacturer's EIA code as well as their own 343 code.

Tube writing in the newer boxes was usually orange or reddish orange, however yellow was used frequently. Date codes were originally year-week, but when many tubes from Sylvania showed up wearing Zenith colors, the 3 letter Sylvania code showed up too.
