Western Electric was the manufacturing (tube and otherwise) arm of ATT. I guess sort of the Lucent Technologies of years gone by. They were around a long time ago making some of the early transmitter tubes. Of the era (50's - 60's) I saw, tubes had yellow writing and used the yearweek date code. Their EIA/RETMA code was 336.
