My side effects after four months on treatment of Betaseron.
Usually the following day after injection I feel fine once up and dressed after a good nights rest.
Most of the side effects seem to occur the day when I have to inject.
I inject at 6pm on alternate days.
Am not on any other medication.
Stopped taking anti-depressants when treatment began because of constipation problems, bowel movements are regular now.
Body Temperature:
At night during sleep I wake sometimes overheating and find it extremely difficult to move causing anxiety attack, approx. once a month.
Body stiffness:
Hard to bend joints in hip and legs the following morning after injection takes place, overheat easily trying to dress in morning, sometimes having to get back into bed and relax and rest before finally getting up.
Headaches:
Sometimes light headaches thoughout the following day after injection.
Sometimes strong headaches needing to take Brufen tablets the following night after injection day, my thoughts on this are, as the Betaseron’s effects begin to reduce in strength these headaches begin to occur.
Toothaches:
Roughly once a month relating to treatment, not a problem with my teeth.
Deep pain that seems to be coming from the roots of my teeth.
Double Vision:
Blurred vision occurring on a regular basis since beginning treatment, definitely worse on the day leading up to injection.
I did not have this problem before, have always had good vision.
Aversion to bright lights usually on evening of injection also.
Deep hip pain:
Deep hip pain in groin area where leg joins hip on R.H.Side.
Roughly once a month usually at night.
It is as if an old wound is being brought back to life in some form or other, pains last for maybe 10 minutes at a time.
If I change my lying position pain dissipates.
I was damaged in this area from a car accident as a 10-year-old.
