rosa rugosa: a hardy shrub rose, whose delicate blossoms have a sweet scent. The leaves are dark and wrinkled(rugose) and color well in the fall. Very vigorous and easy to grow.
Rosa Rugosa: a hardy bitch, with a sweet temperament, a dark coat, and plenty of wrinkle. Easy to live with, very well behaved, and despite her delicate appearance, has the vigor to capture her share of rabbits, muskrat, woodchuck and birds.
Rosa was a gift from my husband for my 40th birthday, and my first show dog. I knew when I first saw her that she was a very special girl.
Right from the start she demonstrated her sire and dam's wonderful temperament, and is one of the sweetest basenjis I have ever met. Rosa never went through that 'terrible puppy' stage, I often joke that I think she was born a little adult.
Correcting Rosa is something we have had to do so rarely, that when she does misbehave, we are at a loss. I did catch her in one of her worst offenses, cleaning the placemats after dinner. But you know, if the kids won't do it, somebody has to.
