Oxbow Park, Zollman Zoo
|
| Oxbow Park is an Olmstead County Park near Byron, Minnesota. They
have a collection of animals which are native to the Minnesota area. Many
are beautiful examples of of animals which would be difficult to find
in the wild, and some you wouldn't want to walk up on in the woods in
any case.
If you are in the Rochester Minnesota area, Oxbow Park is about a
ten mile drive, and well worth the trip.

"Just Kickin' Back" - I shot several
pictures of this fellow as he roamed around his exhibit at the Zollman Zoo, looking for just the right 'pose'. When I
got home, this shot really appealed to me. You can also see his friend behind him. |

"Otter Buddies" - You've never experienced perpetual motion until you
watch otters at play: They never stop moving! I finally caught these two in the ideal condition... Paused, together, facing
the camera, and not biting each other. They also have a third playmate, but I wasn't going to wait for all three of them to
line up... |

"King of the Mountain" - I had several shots of this coyote, but the fence
always seemed 'in the way'. I decided to use it as a frame around his face. I'd like to take the shot without the fence, but the
zoo would probably not be very happy if I let him out... |
