Nature Around Us

Nature is everywhere. We can find it in our back yards, in local parks and in the national forests. It's not how remote it is, or how far from people you are. Nature is anywhere you find it.

Mushroom Forest
"Mushroom Forest" - While walking along a trail in Forestville State Park, Minnesota, I came across this group of mushrooms. Always looking for the "best presentation", I ended up down on the ground, looking up into this "mushroom forest" from about four inches away.

Orange Moth
"Orange Moth" - Moths and butterflies add color to the air. I love to watch them, but seldom have the speed to catch them (on film, anyway). This picture was taken from about six feet away on full zoom.

Forestville Stream
"Forestville Stream" - Taken from about half a mile away using the FD71's full zoom and a 1.5 telephoto multiplier, this stream cuts through the Forestville State Park. The picture here is a composite of two photographs, stitched using Enroute's QuickStitch product.
