The Minnesota Zoo

The Minnesota Zoo is located in Apple Valley, just south of Minneapolis. FOr you shoppers, it is ten miles south of the Mall of America. The zoo is very open and the displays are very nice. They have extensive tropical and marine areas indoors as well as the outside habitats.

The American Symbol
"The American Symbol" - Almost all Bald Eagles you find in zoos have been injured to the point that they could not survive in the wild. Most of these injuries are caused by people. I can't understand why someone would want to hurt one of these majestic birds.

Baby Camel
"Baby Camel" - Standing with its mother, this baby camel looks very cute and cuddly.

Lunch
"Lunch" - Out of all of the animals we saw that day, one of the cutest was this squirrel, sitting on a feeder next to the monorail entrance. He never paid any notice to us or the other people entering the building. I was about ten feet away when the picture was taken.
