I wish I could give you
Dreams upon which
you would build your future;
Memories as a foundation;
Tears with which
you would wash your soul;
Laughter on which
you would dine;
Music to fall asleep on;
rays of golden sunshine
with which you would awake;
Rain with which
you would grow
And Love, whose seeds
you would sow
wherever you might go.


Only in unity
can we die to ourselves
to live
freely

Grass needs
rain and sun to grow.
So we also
need joy and pain.


A rainbow
promises
good weather;
but
for as beautiful
as it is,
it does not last
in time,
and is not,
in itself,
that good weather
that it promises.


A flame
sings and dances
freely with joy.
May we be
like the flame
that in its joy,
gives not only heat
to cold souls,
but also light
to poor in spirit.


It's better to go
hand in hand
than stay
with one hand
in the other.


Hopes
are never lost
if not by us
when we destroy
the faith with which
they were created.


Repudiating
the most beautiful things
and with them the pain
of their joy,
is the greatest sin
of man.


Waves of earth
overturned:
hard froth, dark;
opaque view
to non
believers


water thrown

runs
seizes
conquers;

stopped
exhausted,
is sucked

sparkling


Silences:

pages
whitefull
in the encyclopedia
of your soul


Circles
are worlds
and nuts,
balls of cooked clay,
eyes that can and cannot
see,
diameters of trees
and dead sputniks in the sea
of sky around us;
your arms around me
and the yolks of eggs
yellow in their shells,
baseballs and oranges,
the sun and the moon,
the tip of this pen
and the "o" in love
all around which
our world must turn.
