Recent work

Recently I graduated in Masters of Agricultural studies from the University of Queensland, Australia and during this degree my main interest was in ornamental horticulture, especially in propagation and tissue culture of ornamental plants. My main project was on somaclonal variation of Philodendron during tissue culture. I also did some molecular course especially on PCR (ISSR) analysis.

During of my masters of botany most of my course was on different theoretical aspect of cytogenetics, genetics and plant breeding. Rest of my courses was on taxonomy, statistics and photochemistry.

Career Goal   Feature Plan 

I want to devote my self in horticultural activities. I will be very happy if I get opportunity to work as ornamental plant breeder especially on rose. In feature I will try to establish my own nursery and cut flower production house in Bangladesh. 

And I like to involve myself in development of our native flower and conservation of our horticultural genetic diversity and reestablishment of nearly lost or endangered horticulture verities and species.

Rose breeding

 From 1990 I started to breed rose in my roof garden. Form then on I have spent thousands of hours in hybridizing and selecting new rose varieties. Up to now I have produced about 17 new varieties of roses and lots of promising seedling. Three (i, ii, iii) of my roses were published in the cover page of Rose Annuals of Bangladesh National Rose Society. (To see my seedling garden click here.)
Gardening Experience

I become interested in rose, other ornamental plants & fruit plants in very early age and I started gardening 1988. Now, I have a rose garden which containing more than 400 rose bushes (more than 170 verities) including a large number of promising seedlings.   

I also have an ornamental plant garden which contains more than 300 varieties of different kind of ornamental plants and 25 varieties of different kind of fruit plants.

I was Join Secretary of Bangladesh National Rose Society for four years. 

Awards

For five times my garden was selected the best garden of the year in individual member category during National Rose Festival held in 1994,1997,1998,1999,2000 by the National Rose Society of Bangladesh (BNRS). I won first prizes in almost every National rose festival from 1994 to 2000 & few prizes in National flower show.
