Teachers, school officials, parents and future graduates of elmwood High School, Good Afternoon.  It seems like only yesterday that most of us faced that hange from the grade school to the junior high.  Scared about the new people we'd meet, excited bout the new classes we could take, but saddened by the loss of recess.  but after time, those new faces became ones with names and then those of fellow classmates, most of those classmates are here today and are the Senior s beside of us.  The many years since that first day in the sixth grade have flown by.  We are about to graduate and take our seperate ways.  .  We stand here today for the last time together as Elmwood students.  Walking the halls, hearing the gossip and talking with friends about class assignments will soon only be a sutle memory in our minds.  Today is not only a graduation, but the completion of a chaper in our lives.  For our book of high school has bow been completed and we are prepared to face new horizons and endless accomplishments.  There is an entire world out there waiting for peple just like us to rendor it's endeavors.  It is our choice and soely up to each one of us what path in life we take.  We are lukcy.  Lucky to have been part of this great class.  We leave here with the srong friendships, remembrance of recent victories and the education the Elmwood staff has given us.  For it is not one staff member here at Elmwood that surpasses another.  It is the entire staff as one that has made the high school such a great place to spend the last four years.  We leave here today prepared for the future that has yet to come.  Many of us will go off to college, not knowing what or whom we may encounter.  And while things here at Elmwood will change, the memories we've made and the friendships we've held onto will not.  We have the chance to do anything we set our minds to, the world's opportunities are  endless.  For the next three months, the long marble hallways of the high school will remain calm and quiet, awaiting next year's graduating senior class and attending underclassman.  For most of us, we will remain a memory to only those who we have been close to and notarieties for accomplishments we have achieved.  Teachers will have planning to do and lessons to give, as they have to us.  New studetns will take our places and our lockers will become those of someone else's.  Graduation not only marks the closing of our years in high school, but a new and exciting start on life.  Signed in ink and sealed with a crest:  the diploma we will all receieve today will be a building block for our futures.  So frame it, use it and never give up.  Let our class be remembered as the one that DID NOT and WILL NOT let anything stand in our way of success.
